Dialog box reference ► Crossfade dialog

The Process > Apply Effect > Crossfade command lets you specify accurately the shape of a crossfade for a selection, clip, or track. This is a destructive edit—it permanently alters the data that you apply it to. To apply a nondestructive volume change to selected data, see Creating and editing automation envelopes.
The Process > Apply Effect > Fade/Envelope command opens the Crossfade dialog box, which has the following fields:
*
Exponential Crossfade. This option causes the selected audio to change volume rapidly at first, but much slower toward the end of the crossfade.
*
Inverse Exponential Crossfade. This option causes the selected audio to change volume slowly at first, but much faster toward the end of the crossfade.
*
Linear Crossfade. This option causes the selected audio to change volume at a constant rate throughout the crossfade.
The crossfade graph illustrates any type of crossfade you choose in the Name field, but you can also drag points on the graph to create any shape you want.
