If you want to keep all of your project’s audio in one folder (your project’s audio data directory), go to Edit > Preferences > File - Audio Data and select the Always Copy Imported Audio Files check box.Sonar allows you to share external files (files not in the project’s audio data directory). There are some exceptions, however. Files that have a different sampling rate or bit depth are always copied to the project’s audio data directory. Also, if the Always Copy Imported Audio Files option is selected in Edit > Preferences > File - Audio Data, imported audio is always copied to your project’s audio data directory.
1. Go to Edit > Preferences > File - Audio Data and clear the Always Copy Imported Audio Files check box.
2. In the Open dialog box, when importing audio, make sure the Copy Audio to Project Folder option is unchecked.
