DEPTH. This fader controls how much of the effect is used.
list-image
EFFECT. Specify the type of effect you want to apply to the sounds inside the frame. The available effects are compressor, delay and reverb.
list-image
TYPE. Each effect has several different sub-formats, as described in the following table.

The NOISE CANCEL section lets you reduce noise from the audio data to improve the clarity of the sound. For example, a live recording sometimes contains power supply noise or the sound of an air conditioner, and sound played back from a cassette tape might contain a characteristic high-frequency hiss.
list-image
DEPTH. This fader controls how much noise reduction is applied.
list-image
TYPE. Select the appropriate type of noise filter to remove different types of noise from the audio data. The noise type options are as follows:
list-image
Bypass. Bypasses noise cancellation (no effect is applied).
list-image
HissNoise. Removes the high-frequency hiss that is typical of analog tape.
list-image
HumNoise. Removes low-frequency noise from the audio data.
list-image
WindNoise. Removes wind noise from the audio data.
list-image
AirCon. Removes the wind noise and motor noise produced by an air conditioner.

list-image
SHAPE. Switches the shape of the frame between oval and rectangle.
list-image
INSIDE LEVEL. Specifies the level of the sound inside the frame.
list-image
PAN. Specifies the panning of the sound inside the frame. As you adjust the PAN knob, the red frame within the Harmonic placement plot indicates the panned position, while the solid dark frame indicates the original position.
A. Harmonic placement plot B. Frame
The plot displays components of a stereo mix as color-coded clouds of energy and harmonic matter as the song plays. The plot shows the following information:
The frame is a rectangle or oval you use to select the desired sound. There are two color-coded frames:
list-image
A solid dark frame, used to select the region of sound that will be processed. To adjust the frame, move the mouse pointer to the edge of the frame, then drag to resize the frame.

A. Red frame (INSIDE PAN position) B. Solid dark frame (original position)
When you first launch R-MIX SONAR Edition, the two frames coincide, causing them to appear to be a single frame. However, if you move the INSIDE PAN knob, you'll see the two frames move apart.
To resize the frame, drag the frame’s edge. If you want to undo the changes you made to the frame, double-click the Harmonic placement plot to return the frame to its initial state.
A. Outside level B. Outside pan

OUTSIDE LEVEL. Specifies the level of the sound outside the frame.
