You can create a new SONAR project from a MIDI file simply by opening the file. SONAR takes material from the file and places it into one or more tracks in the Track view.

4. Make sure that Events in Tracks is checked. If you don’t want to import tempo changes, meter/key changes, or markers, uncheck those options. Click OK.

8. Check Paste to One Track if you want all material imported into the current track.

Tip - Searching Documentation

Note: If you prefer to always use offline Help, go to Edit > Preferences > File > Advanced in your Cakewalk software and select Always Use Offline Help.
If you are not connected to the internet, your Cakewalk software will default to showing offline help until an internet connection becomes available.
