Drum Replacer

Drum Replacer is a drum replacement tool that lets you replace or reinforce individual drum sounds in existing audio tracks. For example, you can replace only the snare drum sound in a drum track, while leaving all other drum sounds intact.

This is a very useful tool if you are happy with a drum performance, but would like to change the sound of one or more drum instruments.

Drum Replacer is a Region FX that can be applied to any audio selection. You can configure Drum Replacer to listen for individual drums, such as kick, snare, hi-hat, etc. Drum Replacer analyzes an audio track based on the criteria you specify, then plays a pre-determined sample of your choice when a corresponding drum hit is detected.

You can configure up to 3 different drum sounds to be replaced, each with its own set of settings.

Drum Replacer includes a library of replacement drum sounds, and you can also import your own sounds (.wav, .flac, .aif, .aiff, .ogg, and multi-sample .sfz files). For details, see To load a replacement sample.

Drum replacement works best when each drum instrument is isolated on a separate audio track (kick on one track, snare on another track, etc.). However, by using Drum Replacer's advanced filters, it is also possible to replace drums in a mixed stereo drum track. For details, see To isolate a drum sound.
