If you use windows Media player (WMP) to rip CD tracks, WMP will often save them using Personal Rights Management so they cannot be reused without authorization. If you right-click on the File in Windows and see a License tab withCopy Protected showing, then you will not be able to burn or play thesong in pyro. pyro cannot open or burn an audio CD using WMP files that have been locked with Personal Rights Management. In WMP, under Tools > Options > Copy Music, uncheck the 'Protect Content' box before ripping your WMA file.
There is no way to turn this feature off on specific files that have already been ripped. You'll have to rip the file again. If you normally rip WMA files in Windows Media Player, you'll need to turn off the Personal Rights Management setting in Windows Media Player. To turn off Personal Rights Management when ripping CD tracks in WMP:
- Click Tools menu, choose Options
- Click CD Audio tab (choose Copy Music in WMP9)
- Find the "Enable Personal Rights Management" check box and make sure it is unchecked. (Uncheck Copy Protect Music in 9)
After you do this, WMA files that you rip with Windows Media Player will be usable in Pyro.
If you purchased these files elsewhere, you would need to burn a standard Audio CD of all of these files using Windows Media Player. Then rip the tracks from this CD into Pyro to make a new mix. Please follow these instructions for ripping or copying tracks from audio CD in Pyro.
